Preparation work before maintenance of swing arm air compressor
To ensure the normal operation and extended service life of a swing-rod air compressor, proper maintenance is crucial. Therefore, it is essential to strictly follow the maintenance procedures of the compressor unit. Before starting maintenance, the following preparations must be made:
1. Close the shut-off valve to the air supply system to prevent compressed air from flowing back into the part being serviced. Never rely on a check valve to isolate the air supply system.
2. For water-cooled machines, the water supply system must be shut off, and the pressure in the water pipeline released.
3. Poor maintenance not only affects the normal operation of the swing-rod air compressor but can also jeopardize the safety of the operators.
4. Clean up any oil or water stains on the ground to prevent slipping.
5. Do not use flammable solvents, such as gasoline or kerosene, to clean the air filter or other components. Safe solvents should be used as instructed.
6. Disconnect the power supply to the swing-rod air compressor and place a sign on the power switch.
7. Open the manual blow-off valve to release the pressure in the system, and keep the blow-off valve open.
8. Ensure that the compressor unit has cooled down to avoid burns or scalds.
9. Do not assume that the machine can be serviced or maintained just because it has stopped. The automatic control system of the machine may start the compressor at any time.
10. Do not remove nuts, oil plugs, or other parts while the swing-rod air compressor is running or under pressure.
